I did some research on A fish that I had caught a week ago while on vacation in Delaware, a 14 pound Largemouth Bass, was actually a STATE RECORD. The current record is 10 lbs 5 oz. If I had brought that fish to get officially weighed, I could have oficially caught a state record fish. :D

Yes, that is how you truly hold the fish. How do you hold it Alex? Just curious. Holding it by the mouth does not do any damage to the fish, and you also have control of the fish. when you hold it by the mouth, it is very hard for the fish to get loose, compared to holding that size fish around its body. Also, when you hold it by the body, it can damage the fish's slime coat which protects it from disease and parasites. :)
